RESEARCH:

The following techniques and instrument combinations are in use:

  • ICP-AES: inductively coupled plasma - atomic emission spectrometry
  • GFAAS: graphite furnace - atomic absorption spectrometry
  • ICP-MS: inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry
  • Separation techniques: HPLC, PAGE, CE, IC
  • Hyphenation of separation methods and specific atomic detection

  • Multi element analysis by ICP-AES or GFAAS
  • Analyses of trace and ultra trace elements in e.g.:
  • Water systems o Rock samples
  • Nutrition
  • Biological samples
  • Prosthetic materials
  • Archeological materials (ceramics, bones, bronze)
  • Textiles
  • Speciation of metals in different matrices
  • Gaseous sample introduction (hydride generation) in ICP-AES or GFAAS
  • Hyphenation of separation methods and atomic specific detection
  • Investigation of the effects of organic solvents in the Ar-plasma
